Since I love California and want to live here and am concerned about housing costs, I'd have to say "NO!!!"

It's terrible! Fires all the time which destroy whole cities in an inferno! Earthquakes that will swallow your house and your family into the ground! Smog that will make your lungs turn black in less than a minute! Crime runs rampant as gangs of kids loot, pillage, burn, and murder at will! The sun will scorch you and give you cancer! Illiteracy abounds! Plagues of locusts! Traffic nightmares! Goblins and vampires terrorize the nights!

Stay away! Danger, Will Robinson!!!

I say yes! I love it here! The weather's perfect... and what those other people said about earch quakes, is bogus! I've lived in california all my life and never knew anyone that had anyone killed by an earthquake! The 1906 fire was because of bad preparement! At schools nowadays, they have students prepare and so it's not anything to worry about! I've slept through most of the earthquakes or not even noticed them, and it's the same with everyone I know. I only realize that we had an earthquake one we turn on the news at night.

Unfortunatly, the one bad thing about CA is that housing prices are HIGH! We bought this house for $575,000 and it was a great deal. Now housing prces are up to the millions. But if you can afford it, you won't ever regret it!

Good Luck with the debate!

Also... Professor Beatz, above, must have a pretty big imagination

Best state varies each year. They do studies every year and well Hawaii was one years ago that people lived longer. Now, it really depends, for in some parts of Ca people live long too. You may be able to pull up the studies with a simple search on Yahoo. Good luck and Happy Holidays

NO. First they have one of the highest cost of living of all of the states. Second it is subject to earthquakes and as we have learned from Katrina its no telling what we take as everyday occcurences can turn deadly. But on a good note they do have great weather and there are plenty of places to go in the state.

CNN Money has a list of best places to live. Check it out at: http://money.cnn.com/best/bplive/

According to this website (http://www.morganquitno.com/sr05mlrnk.htm), New Hampshire is the "most livable state" (and was in 2004 also).

California is a good state to live in (if you can afford it!).

No beacuse California will be destroyed in 2 months by a great earthquake that will make dissapear it from the map
