Sonoma Valley - where to stay? Want to be close to restaurants, entertainment, but still remote?

Probably looking more for the town or area rather than specific hotel or vacation rental - although I welcome specific suggestions too.

One can not beat the City of Healdsburg north of Santa Rosa. Its on the Russian River, its close to the ocean, winieres, restaurants.
