Oh my...there's so much north of the bridge. Keep going on Hwy 101 for a few hours and you'll find amazing redwood trees! Head over to the ocean on Hwy 1 and see a breathtaking coastline. There are also fantastic vineyards and wineries all over the place. Mendocino County is awesome.

My family and I recently took a bike trip in San Fransisco, across the Golden Gate Bridge. On the other side there is a town called Saulsalito. We had a great time there. There are plenty of shops...one that i almost shoplifted, but lets not get into that. Once you get to Saulsolito, you can take the ferry back to San Fransisco, or you can go back on the bridge!

Going North on Hwy 101 takes you to Marin County and will be the gateway to Hwy 1 along the Pacific Ocean. This is also one of the routes to Napa & Sonoma Counties to the wine region.

I like Healdsburg north of Santa Rosa about 15 miles. Its a great town with a plaza, nice shops & resturants.

Under Yahoo local there are some photo's that I posted of Healdsburg

Marin County. Sausilito is the first town. There are bedroom communities as far north as Santa Rosa.
