i will be visiting san francisco next week. my hotel is located in the financial district near embarcadero center. the hotel does not have parking so the guests have to park 1/2 block away in a garage located at 1 embarcadero center on battery st between clay st & sacramento st.

i will be reaching there well past midnight and was worried if it would be safe to park the car in this garage and walk down to the hotel at that hour of the night. i have never been to SF and do not know how safe is that part of the town. i'd appreciate any inputs and tips.

The Financial District is pretty deserted at night because it is offices with very few residental building.

You will be safe though it would be smart to check in, drop off you bag and then park your car. That way you don't have to lug you bag from the car.

The only people in the Financial District/Embarcadero Center at night are janitors, security guards, and city workers doing street cleaning. Rarely is anyone else there, and when people are there, they're usually just trying to enjoy the peace and quiet (very different from the day).

So yes, it's safe. However, as with everywhere, be aware of your surroundings. And just for convenience sake I'd agree that it's a good idea to drop off your stuff (they likely have a loading zone) and check in, then go park your car. If you want to walk around during your trip, it's a great night time walk. But I'd suggest walking around during the day first just so you get an idea of the general area.

The Embarcadero Center complex is very safe. There are well-lit elevated walkways between the office towers (as well as the Hyatt Regency and Le Meridien hotels).

However, it will be nearly empty when you arrive, so do exercise some common sense. After midnight, even the movie theatres and restaurants are closed. Go directly to your hotel. And don't use the outdoor ATMs late at night.

Whenever a person feels of San Francisco feels at a huge International Orange-coloured link, a park spanning a lot more than 1,000 acres or even a city wherever contemporary artwork and tradition and if you're thinking about this town then this is the place to begin hotelbye . One of the points for that which you must visit San Francisco is PIER 39. From amazing opinions and a sea of sea lions to chowder bread servings and California wines, your trip to San Francisco begins at PIER 39. That place is the most visited destination in San Francisco. It provides two degrees of food, activity, buying and attractions, all surrounded by irresistible views of the town and the bay. Located along the ancient San Francisco waterfront, PIER 39's location supplies the picture ideal history for postcard opinions of the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges, Alcatraz, Angel Island and the popular city skyline.
